Hear the chug of the train on your trip under the stars and sing around a campfire when you stop in Lewis Creek Canyon. The Moonlight Special runs Saturday and Wednesday nights in summer.

Gold Panning

Pan for gold in the Sierra Nevada’s hills and mountains. Kids love learning how to pan for gold by the friendly prospector and you can keep what you find. Tour the Thornberry Museum for a look at logging camp life at the turn of the century or visit the gift shop and bookstore at the station.

  • What type of trains do you travel on?

Hop aboard two historic-geared steam locomotives, called Shays, once used by the Westside Lumber Company in Tuolumne.
